Yesterday, I got a call from the babysitter about 1 hour before I got off work. Kade was screaming in the background freaking out! She informed me that he was upset because he stuck a hershey kiss wrapper (yes the metal ones, minus the paper part) up his nose and it was stuck. She was at a loss for what to do, so I got off the phone called the doctor, where I left a message. Cheyenne found Paul's flashlight and confirmed that the foil was indeed stuck up the nose. After 15 minutes or so Kade calmed down an was fine. It was a little uncomfortable for him at times but for the most part it didn't bother him at all. A little while later, I got off work and came straight home looked up his nose and saw all silver up inside the hole. I tried using tweezers to get it out but all I did was make his nose bleed. The doctor called me back, and I figured at that point that metal in the nose was no good and totally worth the $15 co pay to go to the doctor to get it removed. Our doctor fit us in and let me know if she couldn't get it out, we would go to the nose, ear & throat doctor. She took out her giant tweezers she has especially for getting things out of noses for kids and got it out in no time! Seriously it was huge probably a quarter of an inch wide. I'm not sure how he shoved it up there. Kade was so proud the whole experience and didn't even cry!
The whole experience was just to hilarious not to blog about! I love that kid and love being his mom, there's never a dull moment with him around!
Haha... very funny! Glad you got it out okay. It's amazing what kids think of to stick in their noses. :)
