Things I don't want to forget

Since my blog is used capture memories of the kids, I thought I'd start posting random facts so I don't ever forget them and what they were like when they were little. Kade is obsessed with  very into nicknames. He thinks everyone should have one and is always asking what everyone he meets nickname is. And for the record he does not think that Kade is a nickname (for Kaden). He's so silly.

His nicknames for his siblings:

Jaxon is mustard.
Bailey is Banana.
Kylie is Whipped Cream.

When I asked him why those names... his response was because he/she is my brother/sister so I can call him/her whatever I want. I asked him if I can call him mayonnaise and he told me I can. LOL. This kid is too funny!

Weekend Fun...

I get 3 personal days every year that I either use or lose. I never use them! This year I decided to use 2 of  them while Kylie and Bailey were off track. The first day (Monday) we went to the dentist, had a picnic in the park and played at IKEA (while mom shopped, it was awesome!). Then today, we went to the Zoo with my sister in law, Jenny and her sweet baby Paige.  Now being raised in California, I've been to the San Diego Zoo/Wild Animal Park a bunch and the Hogle Zoo just doesn't compare (I think I may be a zoo snob) but it was a ton of fun!
All my kids...
The kids with their cousin, Paige, and the camels. We had to move around so we wouldn't see the back ends of the camels.
Kylie and Bailey...
Kade~ its pretty hard to get a three-year-old to look at me and smile when there are animals in sight but this one was pretty cute even if it did take 6 tries.
Jaxon before lunch...
Jaxon after lunch... I wish I could sleep like that.
The babes... these two are going to be best buddies (I hope)
The tiger with Kylie. We had to track up the hill to see these guys and they didn't disappoint. They were wrestling before this. It was pretty cool to see.
The giraffes were so close.
All the kids... I love them having cousins so close by!
The super cute baby elephant (my favorite).

~So to sum it up~
Bailey loved the giraffes.
Kade loved the monkeys/gorillas.
Kylie loved the giant turtle.

Sunday Dress

I love Sunday clothes, especially on little kids. This year, we didn't get to wear our new Easter clothes to church until a few weeks after the fact but that didn't stop me from getting a cute picture!
I love these four to the moon and back. Aren't they the cutest kids ever?

I Heart St. George... and will miss Auntie Amanda

Seriously I love St. George and I love vacations especially with family. Last weekend, we met up with my mom and sister. Neither of us had time to drive the full way (they live in Cali) so we met up half way in St. George and it was oh so fun! My sis is leaving for Thailand for two years to teach. We are going to miss her like crazy. My kids adore their Auntie Amanda and we had lots of fun.  We spent most of our time at the pool  (these pictures are not in order, I actually did them backwards. I didn't take the camera out until Sunday, I know... I'm lame lol)
My super awesome kidlets playing in the pool. The girls seriously did not get out unless forced! They are such water babies. Kade enjoyed the "hot bath" (hot tub). He thought the pool was too cooooold (it wasn't).  Jax was okay with it once he got used to it.

 My mamma...
My sister Amanda... doesn't she look pretty! I'm gonna miss this girl but I think what she's doing is awesome and I seriously want to visit (I'm crossing my fingers, toes, legs whatever it takes that I'll get the chance)!
Two of my favorite boys... Paul is seriously the best dad!
Breakfast... the "kids & Amanda Table (minus Jaxon)"
Jaxon
 Afterward...
See Bailey's missing two front teeth. She lost those a few days before we left. Ky's still waiting patiently...
At the family fun center/arcade...
Jaxon was very popular...
On the trip home: The kids are not easy to travel with. They are loud (especially Jaxon) and had to make lots of potty breaks but we had the best time in St. George. Sometimes its just nice to get away and do nothing for a couple of days. Plus I love seeing my mom and sister (but missed my dad)!
We ♥ you, Amanda!!
Have a safe trip and we can't wait to see you again!

What would a three year old name his caterpillar?

Kade made a caterpillar at preschool today. It says "I am a caterpillar and my name is BRICKLEY I like to eat Cheese." I was laughing when I saw this. Brickley is his cousin whom he loves to death! And apparently caterpillars like cheese... I love this kid!

The Easter Bunny was here

Easter was such a great day. We watched conference on TV so didn't have to worry about getting up and ready for nine o'clock church which turned out to be wonderful. It was a nice relaxing day. In between sessions, the kids dyed their eggs and played with their new stash. For dinner Paul's sister's family came over and we had a great time (I wish I taken some pics)! We love hanging out with the Myers.
Easter Morning... Kade's not dressed. He didn't want to wear pjs last night... silly boy
Poor Ky wasn't feelin' her best.
Bailey
Kade was super excited!
Jaxon didn't know what to think...
Dying our eggs...
Jax just watched but wanted his picture taken too...
WE did our egg hunt at the end of the day! There was snow outside and we had been dealing with sick kids all week so our hunt was inside this year.
Happy Easter!

The Color Festival

First of all, I have to say I ♥ Spring! It is my favorite season (summer a very close second). I love that winter is over, I love the warmth, I love that everyone in Utah comes out and plays. I just love the feeling. So when we heard about the Festival of Colors (which celebrates the start of spring) I was so excited! The Festival of Colors is celebrated by the Hindu religion, but they invite anyone to come. It's their way of welcoming spring anything to bring spring quicker is alright in my book.  Luckily they do it here in Utah as well. This last Saturday, Paul, Jaxon, Kade and I celebrated Holi aka Color Fest at the Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork (along with the rest of Utah and probably half of Idaho).

This is a pretty huge event. It had a hippy feel to it. Basically, you buy powdered chalk and everyone throws it everywhere. It's packed and completely chaotic and wonderful. Who wouldn't want to be covered in chalk? Unfortunately, we didn't realize how nuts it would be and missed a bit at the beginning and they did run out of chalk but we could see the giant pink cloud of smoke rise above the temple. When we got there, I dropped off Kade and Paul. Everyone was so nice and gave Kade some of their chalk to throw and even asked him before they would throw it at them. I wasn't exactly sure it would be a good idea for the 10 month old to get covered in chalk so Jax and I were on the sidelines but got to witness all the craziness! Paul and Kade looked awesome. I only had 1 person throw the chalk at me and they did it to my back. I was so impressed with how great & nice everyone was. We will definitely need to do this again sometime! Maybe next year we will get there early to sample the food and music and all the festivities. Supposedly there were projected to be 50,000 people. I believe it! We Loved it!

 The Hindu Temple
Paul and Kade after being in the pit... Kade was a little scared at first but then had fun!
This was while they were throwing the chalk!

PS... the girls had a day out with their babysitter Cheyenne. They went to see Alice in Wonderland, went to dinner and build a bear. They didn't miss out too much.

Jaxon is 11 months

Well, in two days he'll be 11 months but today is the day I'm blogging so if I don't do it now, there's a good chance I'll do 11 months with his first birthday! Jaxon is getting quite the personality and with that has come attitude! The child knows what he wants and how to get it. I've never seen such a thing. He works his brother and sisters and they do just what he wants. He loves wrestling with Kade but will not do it with anyone else. He's silly and very happy. He loves food. He has decided that he wants to eat real people food now. He loves waffles and crackers. He says "mama" for everything, whether he's happy, sad, bored. He has 6 teeth. He loves cuddling with his stuffed animals, his blue blanket, and chews on everything! He likes to walk as long as he has his walking toy (he can't do it on his own yet). He waves to everyone and is a friendly little boy. He loves all things electronic (he takes after his daddy). He loves remotes and has realized that if you point it at the tv, the tv will turn on (he doesn't see that you have to push the button too). He always points it at the tv then gets upset when it wont turn on. Should I be worried about this? He claps too! IF you say "yay!" he'll start clapping. We love our little Jax!

Easter Egg Hunt at the Park

This morning in the freezing cold, we ventured out to the Easter Egg Hunt put on by the city. This was our third year going and it was still just as fun. Its at 8:30 in the morning so its usually kind of cold but this year they had to pick up the candy in snow/frost. brr. I was ready to just forget about it this morning but once you tell kids you are going to do something... rain, sleet or snow there is no way to back out! Did I mention that we had to get up, ready and be out the door by 8:10 with 4 kids. Thank goodness for sunglasses and hats because we definitely skimped on getting ready. No one got their hair done, and mom definitely didn't get any makeup on. Yikes! They loved it so it was all worth it. We had fun and that's all that really counts!
Jaxon is not pictured because he was in the baby bjorn and I did not want to be in it. Ha!

Lets go fly a kite

Our Utah spring has been so crazy! One day its freezing and the next its great. This was two weekends ago when Brickley (Paul's nephew) came to stay with us for the weekend while his parents had a little get away. After church we pulled out the $1 kites I had bought for Easter and went to the park. It was the perfect kite day, windy but not freezing. The kids were there for about 2-3 hours.  We only left after two of the kites died and the third got caught in a tree (they were only a dollar). It was awesome!
 Kylie and Jaxon

Brickley and Kade... Best buds!
He loves the grass!
The wind was so great Bailey's laying down and flying a kite. It got a little tough for her to run around with her walking boot on.

Paul helped all the kids get their kites going and I think he had as much fun as the kids.
playing while everyone is flying the kites... Kylie took this pic of Jax and me... Didn't she do a great job?
Mamma and Kade. I'm never in any of the pictures since I'm usually the picture taker so I decided to get one of me.
