Hollywood Connections

Every year, the elementary school takes kids who didn't get a white slip to Hollywood Connections. Its a big deal to the kids and this year with the change from year-round to traditional, the kindergarten was going to miss it since they end a week early. Kade was so disappointed but my friend was taking her daughter (parents could drive their kindergartners) and took Kade with her. Kade had a blast!

Jaxon's a Preschool Graduate (sort of)

Jaxon completed his first year of preschool at the elementary school. His teachers Miss Julie and Miss Lynette were fabulous and he loved it. The program had the kids singing songs then each child came up and told the parents what they wanted to be when they grew up. Jaxon told us he wants to be a doctor. Afterwards there were TONS of treats. This year jaxon gas been working hard on his speech therapy. He knows his colors, shapes and some letters. He can count to 10. It's been a great year and he can't wait to come back in the fall!

Swimming

Swimming with cousins before they move back to Texas on Friday. We sure will miss them 😔 but it was a fun Sunday afternoon. 

Moving schools

I've been teaching at the same school for over 10 years in the same classroom. I love my job. Our school has been in he rebuild process for the last three years. We are finally moving in but it's been hectic to say the least. 

After packing more than 60 boxes...

And throwing away trash cans full of junk. I finally got everything ready and we are ready for the move. I spent hours everyday after school letting kids have a little more time to get all their projects done. It's exciting to get into a new school but I NEVER want to move again :) just some pictures of the walls that the students did that I want to remember 

Jump Rope Club Performance

All year, Kylie and Bailey have been in their school's jump rope club. This is a club run by the school for grades 3-6. They learn and practice different tricks and skills. They've stay after school once a week to practice. Tonight was their end of the year jump rope club performance. The top pic is all the kids involved. It was an impressive show that was about an hour, they did so good. We are so proud of them!

Addie was a in a play for her school and did such a good job. It was so much fun going to see it. 

Bailey & Kylie's 3rd grade fieldtrip

Kylie and Bailey's third grade field trip was to the aquarium. We saw fish of all kinds, sharks, frogs, bugs, otters and penguins. It was a lot of fun and we had such a great group. I love hanging our with my girls.

We are officially out of carseats at our house (just boosters)... Life may have gotten a little easier today. Jaxon is getting so big!

Yard Redo

Our yard has looked horrible the whole time we've lived here (since September 2004). Last summer, we decided to do something about it. First we ripped out the old patio and deck/stairs.

We started taking the stones off to see what we could do

Isn't it awful. The stones were all uneven and falling apart.

Then hired someone to pour concrete and another to build new improved stairs.

We LOVE how it turned out and this spring, we knew we were going to do the landscaping. First we ripped out the old flower bed behind the swing set. Then, we had to build up the dirt between the patio and wall.

All the dirt, we had tons left.

Then went to lowes (had no idea what we wanted to do) then a nursery. The "garden expert" helped us put together a look we were happy with and $ 357 later we were on our way.

It became a family affair. The girls helped dig and plant and the boys played in the dirt.

It turned out exactly how we were picturing it!

Afterwards, we ripped out the flower bed on the other side of the yard, built up the dirt, then planted sod.

Then we decided to do the front yrd. Landscaping is not our thing but we loved how the backyard looked so we followed the same plan, using similar plants.

Jaxon got a scooter for his birthday and he just loves it.

Kade's Kindergarten Field Trip to Wheeler Farm

Today was Kade's first real school fieldtrip. I was one of the lucky few who got to chaperone (the district is now requiring background checks by all parent volunteers). They went to wheeler farm, saw all the animals then went to a park for lunch and to play. My group was so good and fun. I love that I am able to go experience these things with Kade.

Afterwards, we left school early and had a mcflurry at McDonalds. 

It was a great day with a great kid :) 

Happy 4th Birthday jaxon

Jaxon turned four today and I can't believe what a little boy he is. Jaxon is our spunky little boy. He has the best laugh and funniest expressions. He's still working hard at his speech therapy and is still improving.  He loves being outside and digging in the dirt. He knows his numbers, colors and shapes. He's been in preschool all year. He's a fun, happy boy and we love him to pieces! Happy birthday Jaxon!
