Fall Break

This fall break, we tried to fit in as much as we could...

Thursday: I found a $20 bill in a drawer in the stove drawer. We decided to spend it while the house was getting cleaned. The kids and I: went to lunch at Carls Jr for $10.82, went to shopko for some candy: $3.27 and to the movie (Ice Age 3) for $6.25. Total: $20.34. Luckily I had change in my purse too.

Friday: We went with the Barons and Kade's friend Dannon's family to Cornbellys. They pretty much did it all: bounce houses, haunted dinosaur, slides, corn sandbox, corn maze, cow train, creepy monsters, Hay hills, etc. It was a fun but exhausting!

Saturday: Paul left on a business trip to San Antonio, but before he left, the kids did a stuffed animal Halloween Parade. Then we went out to lunch at Cafe Rio. That night we had a movie night watching Hocus Pocus. They looked a little frightened at parts and I was afraid it was going to be a rough night (nightmares and all) but they did great.
Everynight of the break, they had a slumber party in the playroom. It was a great fall break that went entirely too fast!

Farm

One of the best things about where we live is the abundance of farms. We can live in suburbs but still have access to all kinds of farms. We love it in the fall. In August I bought a package on Groupon and we got to go a farm in Utah County. It was small but the kids had lots of fun!
 We love fall!

Charlie Brown's the great pumpkin

I probably complain about the weather in Utah way too much.  I really do dislike snow but I think it makes me appreciate the good weather when we have it. October in Utah is gorgeous and I love it! This past weekend was fall break so the kids and I were off school.  Unfortunately, I had a rough week health wise so we didn't get to do much but it was nice to not have anything we had to do!
I did find on Saturday that one of the farms (Farnsworth Farms & Cider Mill) shows "Charlie Brown's The Great Pumpkin" outdoors on Friday and Saturday nights. They had yummy hot doughnuts, the kids went on a hayride, played games, and got to pick out their pumpkins in the dark. It was a great activity and we had fun. It was a warm day and we hardly even needed sweatshirts! L-O-V-E-D it!
 Watching the movie...
Jaxon was more interested in the warm doughnuts.
After the movie, picking out our pumpkins in the dark
 Kylie...
Kade
Bailey... they could get a pumpkin only as big as they could carry. Bailey struggled but this was hers.

All the kids at the end of the night.

Cornbellys

This year I've heard a lot about Cornbellys so we decided to take the kids. Cornbellys is at Thanksgiving point and has all kinds of things for kids to do. It was definitely worth it, so much fun!
We played in the playhouses...
We met the Pumpkin Princess and she read us a story...
Tried on some dress up clothes...
Sat in the Cinderella carriage and even got to be a driver...
 I love cutouts!
played in a room full of corn kernals (this may have been the favorite, but it was kind of gross if you ask me.)
 went on a train ride...
Played in the tiny tot area... Jaxon adored this. It was definitely his favorite!
Jaxon L-O-V-E-S slides and the boy has no fear when it comes to a good slide (or anything else!)
Kade tried on fireman hats and sat in a firetruck...
It was a fantastic day!

Our Lil' Pumpkins

Having Paul off this week has been so much fun. We've been busy the whole time and I for one love it! Today was no different. The kids have been really excited to carve pumpkins (last year we kept putting it off and never did it... Isn't that awful?) so this year we decided to choose our pumpkins from a pumpkin patch. They loved running through the field looking for their perfect pumpkin. Lizzie and Linnie really just wanted a tiny one but we had to convince them to go bigger so we could carve it. I think they did a pretty good job and I got some great pictures! I can't wait to do my scrapbook page for this one!

Lizzie and Linnie Start School

This year Lizzie and Linnie started their second year of Preschool. They are getting so big. It's amazing to see the difference from last year. They seem to be picking up letters and numbers so much easier. Its been so different having them in different classes but it had to happen sooner or later. So far every other day, I have to explain to them why they can't go together. But it has been nice to have each one have a little down time while the other is at school. They love preschool!
