Jaxon's walking

Jaxon is 14½ months old and has finally started walking. I had been getting worried he wasn't walking yet so I'd been trying all week to get him to walk. I had a suspicion he could walk but just didn't want to. I was out for a girls night for a few hours on Saturday, I come home and he's walking across the room. I love that he's walking, and it goes to show that he does things in his own time. No one can tell Jaxon when to do something.  Now he's walking like hes been doing it for months, the little stinker. This is from the next day, he was so excited.

Some other Jaxon facts: He loves bread, hates cereal, loves to cuddle in the morning and only the morning (or if he's sick), he babbles constantly, can go up and down stairs like a pro, loves getting into baskets (as in the picture) and boxes, he's very stubborn and wants things his way, in his time. His brother and sisters call him "J", paul calls him JP and I call him Jax. We all love him to pieces!

Our Playroom: where mess happens

I hardly ever do vinyl for myself anymore but Paul and I spent all day Sunday working on throwing away all their toys organizing the kids' playroom and thought a little vinyl would be perfect for the new storage bins we bought (and spent way too much money on at IKEA but I ♥ them). What do you think? Maybe now they will keep this room clean. I'm not holding my breath but am definitely keeping my fingers, toes, legs crossed hoping for a nice, organized room! While I was at it I figured I'd take pictures of the rest of the room so I can remember what it looks like clean

The labels are so the kids know where to put everything. From top to bottom, left to right they are: dolls, dress up, puzzles/games, girls figures, Kade's "guys", dinosaurs/tools, Jaxon's (baby) toys, and cars/trucks. I'm seriously lovin' how it turned out! I think the playroom is done.

Notice the butterflies are also in vinyl as are the monkeys in this tree. I'm super proud of those since they took me forever. Paul's brother painted the tree for us when we moved in. The three little monkeys represent Kylie, Bailey and Kade.

and the window in the kitchen... This kitchen was made for me when I was 3 or 4. Its a little scratched from all the ♥ its gotten but its lasted through the years and my kids love it.

The ball pit. Paul made this our 2nd Christmas in the house for the girls. Its very popular whenever kids come over to play. And aren't the swinging rings the coolest?

Happy Pioneer Day!

July 24th is a Utah holiday and usually comes and goes. It's so close to the 4th of July, so we usually forget all about it until the fireworks start up. This year we still had some fireworks left over from the 4th of July so we had a bunch of fun lighting those off. We had about 50 sparklers and a bunch of other stuff.

I ♥ fireworks and so do my kids, can you tell?

Kade's Awesomeness

Last weekend, we were at Scott and Jenny's and Paul gave a little girl some dessert. As he's walking away, he hears Kade tell the little girl "That's my dad. He's awesome!"How cute is that? I hope he always thinks his dad is awesome.

Paige's blessing and sealing

This weekend, our neice (Scott and Jenny's little baby) was sealed to her parents in the LDS temple. It was amazing being able to witness it and see how happy Scott and Jenny were. Plus Lynette and Becky (Paul's sisters from Virginia and Texas) were able to come out and we loved seeing them.  It was a crazy weekend full of family (I think we got together everyday)

Things I don't want to forget

Jaxon is my baby and is growing up. There's so much I don't want to forget. Right now though, I love his angry face. He huffs and puffs quickly like a bull, through his nose while his whole face scrunches up. He does it when he's mad, frustrated or concentrating hard. Its hilarious!

4th of July

Our family are big fans of the 4th of July. Paul and I met on the 4th of July 10 years ago. We always try to do something fun. Our new favorite thing is to go to Wyoming and visit my aunt and uncle's ranch. We love it and always have the most fun!
I always take way too many pictures, but I wont show them all... Here are a few of my favs.

On the 4 wheeler with my cousin, Lindy and our kids. Lindy and I got into some trouble with the 4 wheeler as kids. We may or may not have flipped it. Some of my best memories as a kid are hanging out with Lindy and my cousins at my aunt and uncles. Good times!

On the last night, Paul and I got to help my aunt and uncle herd some cattle. One of their steers had escaped and we helped herd them over. Carol and I were on horseback and Paul and Doug were on the 4 wheelers. We felt like fish out of water for the most part but had so much fun! Who would have thought? It rained a little and I almost fell off my horse when it fell on its knees while galloping (so scary!) and I am so sore now but loved that I can still ride a horse after all these years! Paul flipped the 4 wheeler too, It was awesome watching him and Doug ram into the steer with the 4 wheelers. PS. A side note: Cows are nasty. They poop everywhere, stink and are kind of mean. I will never feel bad about eating a steak or hamburger EVER.

Happy 4th of July!

Bittersweet

This was the last week of school for Kylie and Bailey. I've been dying for them to be done with school so we could have some fun but I'm so sad they're done with kindergarten. They will be first graders, going to school all day, with three recesses and they get to eat lunch at school (these are the highlights they are so excited about). They've had such a wonderful year and have loved it. They started school, knowing a little and now can read. They can count to 100+. They have even done a project! Paul and I are so proud of them!

Here are some highlights of their week...

Monday: Jammie Day

Tuesday: Water Day (we had an eye doctor appointment before school so we were in a rush to get to school so there were no pictures sadly). For water day, their school earned a fun day of Popsicles, a bounce house and lots of water! This was their favorite!

Wednesday: Feild day... The whole school participated in field games. They had to wear red (which we don't own a single red item of clothing...) so we went to walmart before school and got them some $3 Walmart flag shirts that did the trick.

Thursday- Hollywood Connections. All the students who haven't gotten white slips were able to participate in this fun day. I also got to volunteer to go.

Friday- Last Day. and awards ceremony.
