Happy Halloween

This year we had a Ninja turtle-Jaxon, zombie swat team-Kade, gypsy-Kylie and goddess-Bailey 🎃👻🎃 nana made baileys costume out of Amanda's old material.

We went to the ward trunk or treat with the Barons, a fun Halloween tradition we've had the past 5 or 6 years. Then had chili and went trick or treating. The girls went off on their own for the first time. The boys did a few blocks with dad then were done. They had more fun eating candy and passing it out to trick or treaters.

Scary house

There's a house by the stake center that has the most amazing halloween decorations so Nana and Poppy took the kids to see them. They were terrifying :)

Happy Halloween

Halloween is always so much fun but so busy. Paul had the day off and got the kids ready for and taken to school, took Jaxon to his preschool dressed up.

This was Kades first holiday with diabetes and I wasn't sure how it would be but was prepared. It honestly wasn't a big deal at all. For his Halloween party, I volunteered to bring treats (so I knew what he was getting) so Paul (had the day off) and I took treats to his class any gave him his shot of insulin. Then we went to lunch.

That night, the kids got all dressed up.
Scott, Jenny and their kids and Keith, Autumn and her kids came over for the trunk or treat and then to trick or treat. We love cousin time.

We always go to the trunk or treat with the Barons and trick or treating. It's become a tradition the kids look forward to.

Happy Halloween

Halloween was a bit unusual for us this year since Paul and I caught a flight to the Bahamas at midnight but we still had all our normal Halloween activities. We dressed up.

Kylie & Bailey: Fairies (made by Nana w/ matching doll costumes)
Kade: Swat team member (From Costco; Uncle Kent let him borrow his real handcuffs)
Jaxon: Air Force Guy(From Costco; he loved the bee on it. Bees are his obsession lately)

We went to our ward trunk or treat then had stew for dinner. Then Cindy and I took them trick or treating around the neighborhood since it was so warm.

Halloween Festivities

Halloween Night
For Halloween this year, Nana made the girls costumes and bought the boys. She's amazing and I wish I had gotten some of her awesome sewing genes.

Kylie: Ladybug

Bailey: Ariel

Kade: Frankenstein

Jaxon: Dr. Frankenstein

Thanks Nana for the amazing costumes!

 all the kids...
We went trunk or treating with our ward and our friends, the Barons. Then went back to their house, ate pizza and went trick or treating... such a fun night!
 Friday before Halloween
We spent Friday night at our cousin's house for a family dinner and went trunk or treating at their church. It was such a fun night and the first time we've done trunk or treating with cousins!

Friday before Halloween
Kade's Preschool always has a fun Halloween party and program. The kids dress up, pass out treats to each other, sing Halloween songs for the parents and have a costume parade around the neighborhood.
We ❤ Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween was a crazy day. We went to our ward (church) carnival in the morning (10-12) and had tons of fun. Most of my pictures of the kids in their costume were from then (at least the best ones). Once again my super awesome amazing mom made the girls their costumes. They both wanted to be Tianna from Princess and the frog but luckily, Kylie wanted to be the princess version and Bailey wanted to be the frog. The costumes were beautiful as usual.
The boys were a pirate and a parrot. Cute right? These I bought, I'm sure my mom's would have been much better but my boys still looked awfully cute :) The one where Jaxon is on Kade's shoulders is the parrot on the shoulder. I don't know if that comes through in the picture but Paul and I were very amused.
I only got one of all the kids. Jaxon was over taking pictures, all he wanted was some milk. These are their pumpkins I never got pictures of. A two for one I suppose.

After the carnival, Kylie and Bailey had a birthday party for a friend from school who they adore from 1-3. Afterward, we had our ward trunk or treat. It was F.R.E.E.Z.I.N.G. Last year the kids didn't even need jackets. This year they were super bundled up.
Afterward, our friends/neighbors the Barons came over. We ate Chili, lots of candy, and the kids trick or treated in the freezing cold rain. It was a busy but very fun day!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween

October has been such a busy month! This last week was no exception. We went to the pumpkin patch to choose our pumpkins. The kids (minus little Jaxon) each chose their favorite. It was horribly cold, rainy and gross outside but they were troopers and had fun.

My mom made their costumes this year. Kade and Jaxon were batman and Robin, Bailey was Rapunzel ad Kylie was a Bride. Nana makes the best costumes! Aren't they adorable. This is from before our church Halloween Party.

Even Robin needs his beauty sleep.

Kade's Preschool Program. He's so different from the girls. He's always in the front of the class and so outgoing. He's a funny kid. I enjoyed watching all the silly faces he made.

Kylie and Bailey are in their school choir and are really enjoying it. Some weeks I have to "encourage" them to go to practice but all in all they love it. They had thier first performance.

After

Halloween night... we always go to the church for a "Trunk or Treat" then over to the Baron's (our friends and neighbors) for chilli and then trick or treating.

All the kids...

Batman and Robin

A bride and Rapunzel

Luckily it was pretty warm so the kids didn't need coats the whole time.  Living in Utah, we're always grateful when its not freezing and/or snowing on Halloween. We had a great time hanging out and having fun.

Happy Halloween... Witch Way to the Candy?

Halloween is always a ton of fun. It seems like the older my kids get the more fun they have. Today was a great day! It was the last day of the quarter so I was able to take the kids to work with me. They dressed up in their costumes and watched a movie on my projector and played games on disney. com. Then at night we did the same as last year just a little better. We went to our church's trunk-or-treat. Every year we go. If you've never been to one of these, basically, everyone parks their car and hands out candy from their trunk. The kids line up and get candy. Its great for little ones. Blake was not shy at all; if the candy didn't get into his bucket fast enough, he'd get it himself. Lizzie and Linnie said thank you every time (yes, this mom was quite proud of her two polite girls). Afterward we went to our friend's for some homemade chili (yum!! Thanks Cindy!) The boys took the bigger kids for some real trick-or-treating. The kids got a load of candy! It was a great night. Here's some more fun pictures. I really wish I would have taken more pictures...

Spooktakular Ward Halloween Party/Carnival

Last weekend, the kids FINALLY got to wear their Halloween costumes and they were thrilled. We went to our ward (church) Halloween party. There was a ton to do and it was pretty much ward chaos the whole time but we had a ton of fun! There was so much to do and the kids wanted to do it all. They ate ice cream, did a cupcake walk, played fish and won suckers. The girls got their faces painted by the young women... We even took a family picture. Isn't it scary?

Too Cute To Spook

I love Halloween. Every year, Lizzie and Linnie's preschool has a short Halloween thing. They have a party at school then 15 minutes at the end, parents get to come, they sing a couple Halloween songs, and do a short parade around the neighborhood. It's too cute and I love it!

Flashback Friday: Stop for a Spell

I've decided to do a Flashback Friday at the end of every month (its too much every week). Being Halloween, I thought there would be no better one than a Halloween one.

This is Lizzie and Linnie's first Halloween. They were too small for any costumes so I made them myself. There was a huge blizzard that night.Blake's First Halloween. He was a pea in a pod.
Last Halloween. These were my Favorite!Happy Halloween.

Halloween Professional Pics

For Halloween this year, Lizzie and Linnie decided to be princesses. Linnie's favorite is Belle (from Beauty and The Beast) and Lizzie wanted to be Snow White. My mom and grandma are amazing seamstresses and made their costumes for them. They are gorgeous. I borrowed the hair piece from a friend of ours (Thanks Cindy). Blake was going to be a little biker man but I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted so Blake is a Frog Prince. Well just a frog but we call him a frog prince so it all goes together. Since the costumes were so great I just had to take them to get professional pictures taken. These are the ones I ordered.

Halloween Party at School

For Halloween this year, Lizzie and Linnie's Preschool had a Halloween party and parade. All the kids dress up in their costumes and exchange treats with their friends. At the end of school, the kids come out, sing a few Halloween songs (apparently there are a few) and then walk around the street in a little parade. The parents take pictures and the kids eat it up. Its a lot of fun.

This is Lizzie's class. She did not sing one word in front of the parents. But when we went home, she sang like crazy.
This is Linnie 's class. She made a new friend today (the little girl in the snow white costume) and they held hands the whole time. It was very sweet. She was so excited she made a new friend.Their class had 4 of the princesses: Belle, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. Cinderella did not want to be in the picture.
