Year in Review

As we end another year (where does the time go?!), I always find it fun to reflect on our year through our pictures. I love seeing all the fun things we did and how much the kids have grown and learned. Here's to another great year!

Paul and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We celebrated over spring break with a trip to NYC where we saw all the sights and took in a few shows.
Jaxon turned 3 and started preschool
Kade "graduated" preschool and started kindergarten. He learned to read and add.
Kylie & Bailey performed a lot. They did the Hunter High Silhouette dance clinic. They were in a class opera and had two dance recitals. They tried tumbling during the summer.
Kylie and Bailey are in the third grade now.
Kade learned to ride a two wheeler.
Kylie won first place in reflections art contest for her photo and Kade received honorable mention.
Paul got a promotion at work. He now manages a sales team.
We got a new SUV, we love our Honda Pilot.
Kade tried tumbling, basketball and soccer. So far Junior Jazz seems to be the favorite.
Paul did his first two sprint triathlons, and ran three half marathons: the Utah Valley, Moab and Tough Mudder (where he broke his toe).
Jaxon has mastered some key sounds in speech therapy and is really making progress.
Ran a 5k as a family
Bailey knitted a hat by herself for her doll.
Kade built a windmill with his dad.
We went camping in the Uintahs with sheep bahhing all night.
Jaxon got his first set of stitches.
Kade learned to shoot a gun.
Paul took me on two all expense paid vacations through work to Aruba and Bahamas.
We went to California for Christmas and surprised the kids with a day at Disneyland.
Saw two of our favorite families sealed to each other in the temple.
Survived another Chalmers family reunion and loved every minute of it.

Happy New Year... Goodbye 2011

2011 was a great year for our family. I always hear about people wanting to forget a year, I don't think I've ever felt that way. Sure there were some not so pleasant times but there were some awesome times too! I thought it would be fun to review our year.

January was full of snow and recovering from Christmas. Kylie and Bailey were off track and most of it was a blur.

February: We appreciated our teachers

  Added a new member to our family, Moose, a boston terrier/pug mix.

March: We spent time as a family going to hockey games and the movies,  Jaxon started escaping his crib and it was time for a new big boy bed.

April: We celebrated Easter.

 Kylie and Bailey worked on their reading and were reading by mid to end of the year 3rd grade level when finishing 1st grade. They love to read!

May: Jaxon turned two... the terrible twos did officially begin.

 We started using our Utah pass of all passes to go to the blaze games.

 Mom got to go with Kade on his preschool field trip.

 Kade finished his second year of preschool

June: Dad ran his first half marathon with his two brothers and sister.

Mom chaperoned Kylie and Bailey's field trip to Hoogle Zoo.

Kylie and Bailey had their final dance recital.

July: 
Jaxon started speech therapy. He hadn't been talking much (5 words in July but by December had over 30) and now has a therapist that comes to our home 2 times a month.

We got passes to 7 peaks and went all the time!

We went to California, to the zoo...

Mom and Dad went on a Cruise with Aunt Jessica and Uncle Larry to the Mexican Rivera.

While Nana and Poppy watched the kiddos.

August: Kylie and Bailey turned 8 and were baptized.

 Kade turned 5.

The Moodys moved to town! We've loved having more family around.

Kade did Tball.

Went Camping a bunch...

School started. Kylie and Bailey started 2nd grade.

 

September: Kade started preschool.

Mom turned the big 3-0. yikes... luckily there are no pictures to document that.

October: Jaxon started going to a play and learn group for his speech therapy.

We had a cousins weekend with the MOodys...

 And did the usual October stuff: preschool dress up parade, truck or treat (only this year with our cousins), ward trunk or treat, pumpkin patches, etc. Nana made our costumes: Kylie- ladybug, Bailey- Ariel, Kade-Frankenstien, Jaxon- Frankenstiens Doctor.

November: Kade started Basketball and loves it...

had a great Thanksgiving...

December: We took a trip to Vegas with Kim and Aaron for the Vegas Half Marathon. Kim and Paul ran the strip at night. It was such a fun little trip.

Grandma and Grandpa Chalmers came home from their LDS mission in Columbia. They were back and were able to go to Kades preschool program

and Kylie and Bailey's dance recital.

We spent Christmas in California.

And new years with Scott, Jenny, Paige and Carter. 

2011 was a great year, we can't wait for what 2012 brings!
