Dying eggs

Today we dyed and decorated Easter eggs.

City Egg Hunt

This morning, we woke up early for our City's Easter egg hunt  before soccer games this morning. There were hundreds of people and they split the fields by age group.  This was jaxons first one we've been able to go to since he was born. Jaxon was with the 4-5 year olds with me. Kade was with the 6-8 year olds with Paul and his friend Sebastian (who spent the night). E girls were with the 9-12 year olds by themselves with their friends Kaia and Aisly. It was a lot of fun and over within 1 minute of starting.

St. George

On the way to St George, the kids watched movies and Paul and I listened to a book. About an hour away, we tuned in to our neice Natalies baptism over webcam. It was so fun to be part of it, to see her dad baptize and confirm her. Technology is amazing!
We had some time to go swimming and to dinner
At a Mexican Restaurant for dinner. Paige and Jaxon had a blast opening and closing the door for customers.
The next day was Easter Sunday. For Easter Sunday, we went to church...
These were the before and afters. We could not get a good picture of the kids lol.

then visited the temple grounds. It was a gorgeous day and a great way to spend a special day. This is the first temple I ever remember seeing/hearing about but had never been on the grounds. I loved it. Happy Easter!

Afterwards we went swimming
Then hiking at Red Reef Trail, then ate our Easter dinner at Outback where all the kids ate free :)
It was such a fun weekend, I'm glad we were able to get away and have Scott, Jenny and the kids join us. I think this may become a new tradition.

Easter bunny

The Easter bunny came early this year. We were able to do a little search before leaving for St. George. They all got a great stash.

Happy Easter from nana & poppy

Thanks Nana and Poppy for the Easter package we just got. The kids ❤ it! My mom sewed the girls and their dolls matching dresses and the boys character pillows. They were thrilled!

Sunday Dress

I love Sunday clothes, especially on little kids. This year, we didn't get to wear our new Easter clothes to church until a few weeks after the fact but that didn't stop me from getting a cute picture!
I love these four to the moon and back. Aren't they the cutest kids ever?

The Easter Bunny was here

Easter was such a great day. We watched conference on TV so didn't have to worry about getting up and ready for nine o'clock church which turned out to be wonderful. It was a nice relaxing day. In between sessions, the kids dyed their eggs and played with their new stash. For dinner Paul's sister's family came over and we had a great time (I wish I taken some pics)! We love hanging out with the Myers.
Easter Morning... Kade's not dressed. He didn't want to wear pjs last night... silly boy
Poor Ky wasn't feelin' her best.
Bailey
Kade was super excited!
Jaxon didn't know what to think...
Dying our eggs...
Jax just watched but wanted his picture taken too...
WE did our egg hunt at the end of the day! There was snow outside and we had been dealing with sick kids all week so our hunt was inside this year.
Happy Easter!

Easter Egg Hunt at the Park

This morning in the freezing cold, we ventured out to the Easter Egg Hunt put on by the city. This was our third year going and it was still just as fun. Its at 8:30 in the morning so its usually kind of cold but this year they had to pick up the candy in snow/frost. brr. I was ready to just forget about it this morning but once you tell kids you are going to do something... rain, sleet or snow there is no way to back out! Did I mention that we had to get up, ready and be out the door by 8:10 with 4 kids. Thank goodness for sunglasses and hats because we definitely skimped on getting ready. No one got their hair done, and mom definitely didn't get any makeup on. Yikes! They loved it so it was all worth it. We had fun and that's all that really counts!
Jaxon is not pictured because he was in the baby bjorn and I did not want to be in it. Ha!

Easter Weekend/Spring Break

I've been off since Thursday on a much needed spring break and we've had a ton of fun! Here's a recap of our fantastic weekend.

Thursday: was a boring day. My washer broke so I spent all day researching places to get it fixed vs. buying a new one. I was annoyed. Luckily Paul googled the problem at night and fixed it! What a miracle worker!

Friday: I have been planning on potty training Blake for months (I've really avoiding it like the plague) but he gave me a kick start this morning. He decided to take off a poopy diaper upstairs hence the poop was everywhere. After I cleaned it up, I was ticked. I put a pull up on him and told him he WAS going to use the potty, no more diapers, no more peeing and pooping in his pants. I even told him I'd get him McDonald's if he did it. An hour later, he peed in the potty and he kept doing it all day! Not a single accident all day! I was absolutely amazed and so proud of my little guy. For a reward, I got the kids McDonalds and we had a picnic at the park! I probably would have taken them to Disneyland, I was so happy! Blake is awesome!

Saturday: We took the kids to the WVC Easter Egg hunt at the park. It was madness but lots of fun. Basically the way it works is they split the place up by age and put candy and eggs all over teh field. They blow a whistle and t
he kids go at it, gathering as much as they can. The whole thing is over in minutes. They all scored on candy and fruit snacks. I never knew Linnie was so aggressive until I saw her getting candy on the field. She doubled Lizzie and Blake in the amount of goods she got! Poor Lizzie and I were trying to keep up with her so I wouldn't lose a kid in the madness. The kids had a ton of fun.

Sunday: Happy Easter! The day started with our smoke alarm going off at 5 in the morning. Luckily there was no fire, and it just beeped for a second. It was a little scary. Then in the morning we ate pancakes,  and searched for goodies from the Easter Bunny. All three kids were pretty excited. The girls each got a new princess barbie and Blake got Legos (He loves legos! He even sleeps with them).
After Church we had a little egg hunt in the backyard while dinner was cooking...

Then our friends and neighbors  showed up with the EAster bunny! (thanks Cindy!)

New Toys

For Easter, Lizzie, Linnie and Blake each recieved $22 from family. They got to take their money to Toys'R Us and buy what they wanted. Lizzie chose a mini Princess Set, Linnie wanted Giselle and Robert from Enchanted, and Blake chose a truck with tools (he really chose it himself. It was the only toy he sobbed over).

Easter ... Bunny?

Easter this year was a lot of fun. Nana and Poppy were here to make it extra special and even Aunt Jenny and Uncle Scott came over for dinner.

Later, the Easter bunny came over. The Easter bunny was my friend Cindy dressed up for a Hotel Easter Buffet, and let us take pictures. She set up an easter egg hunt for the kids too. (It was impossible to get a good picture of 5 kids. I had about 20 shots of them all together and these were the best...

Saturday Hunt in the Park

This morning we got up and went down to the park by our house. They had a huge Easter Egg Hunt. But instead of eggs they mostly just had candy bars spread out all over the fields, which were roped off by age. Blake went to the under 3 section and Lizzie and Linnie went to the 4-5 year olds. They blew a whistle and the kids ran to find candy. They all got a lot and loved it. It was pretty crazy. The parents were the worst, collecting their own candy (or for their kids they said...right). It was still a lot of fun!
