Grandma and Grandpa Chalmers visiting

Paul's parents have been visiting on and off for the last few weeks and we have had a great time with them before they leave on their mission. Soon they will be gone to Columbia so its nice to have some time with them.

 

  Grandma and Grandpa got the girls Jenga to play. Its perfect for Bailey with her broken leg. I think they like using it for building too!

Vinyl

We are pretty much always crazy busy (hence why my blog updates are far and few between). Most people who know us, know that we started a little vinyl lettering business about a year ago. Now when we tell people that, I don't really think they can really picture it... We pretty much spend every evening for hours working on cutting, peeling and transfer taping the stickers. Its a long process but has been quite a blessing for us. Paul's mom took some pictures for me and I thought it would be fun to blog about it. This is all in our basement. It was a long exhausting day. At this point it was about 9 at night, I had worked all day, then spent about 5 hours on vinyls. On the tables, couch, etc are about 45 different vinyls I was working on.

The room is kind of a wreck but everything around is vinyls we are working on.  Notice the chair made of vinyl. Its Paul's masterpiece and is made completely out of scraps of vinyl.
This is how we keep Jaxon occupied. Its his own little play pen. He's always with us while we work and is usually great!

New cousin

About six weeks ago, Paul's brother and his wife adopted a sweet baby girl, Paige. They've been waiting a long time for Paige to be a part of their family and she's perfect! She's the 23rd grandchild on the Chalmer's side. We all waited patiently to see her (we were all super sick when she first got here) and my girls love holding her.

During the winter Kade always has a runny nose and thats why theres no pictures of him... But he has asked us if he could take her in the mystery bag at school (its pretty much show and tell at the preschool). We had a long talk about how you can't put people in bags. Kylie and Bailey think she's a little princess (just like the princess and the frog!). They all love Paige and can't wait until she's big enough to play!

Bailey's broken leg

These past couple weeks have been crazy. My poor little Bailey broke her leg and its been tough. On Friday (the 22nd) Bailey was playing upstairs and came down the stairs. On the last few steps she sliped and fell down twisting her leg. Paul and I heard the screaming but didn't think it was broken since it was just a few steps and it wasn't swelling at all. The poor child was in some pain and couldn't walk at all. about 45 minutes later she still was hurting so we thought we ought to get her checked out at the instacare at 10 at night and it was a good thing we did. She had a spiral break so the doctor gave her a splint and told us we had to wait until Wednesday to cast it. This pic was taken when she came home. She was absolutely exhausted!

 

She had to sit around all day while the splint was on. We had to carry her around, to bed, etc. She was a trooper. If you know Bailey you know she cannot sit still. She's a mover so it was slight torture for her.  I did her hair in the morning in two braids and this is how her hair looked at the end of the day from all her restlessness on the couch. 

 

It looks better in the picture than it really did. I had to use some serious conditioner and a comb to get the "rats nest" out. 

When the day finally came to get her cast, she was so excited. We took her to a specialist and since she still needed to be carried Paul took her. The best part was when he came to pick her up he had his own splint on. He had chipped a bone in his knuckle playing dodgeball! Yes dodgeball. He's playing for a league with some friends. It was quite the sight seeing him carrying around Bailey. She loves her new purple cast. She made sure every doctor, nurse, technician knew she wanted a purple one so she got it! She'll have this one on for two weeks then get her walking cast. She'll get the new cast  almost a week before she goes back on track.

Things my darling little Jaxon is doing this month:

-Eating everything and anything. He's started eating finger foods, loves his puffs, waffles and just about anything that fits in his mouth. He LOVES solids and will not sleep well without eating them. He's a huge veggies fan, fruits not so much. He doesn't like sweet stuff I guess, what a silly baby!

-Crawling! The child is finally crawling normal and is everywhere!

-Standing. He can pull himself up and stand.

-Teeth. He's got his bottom two teeth and its adorable (except when he bites ya!).

-Babbling a ton. Nothing sounds like words but hes always squeekin and squawkin.

I love this boy!
