Wyoming Vacation: Day 1

Last weekend (Wed-Sun) we went up to visit my aunt and uncle in Wyoming on their ranch. We all had a blast. I went little over board on the picture taking (is 145 pictures in 4 days a lot?) so I put them all on picassa (click here to see them all). I will show you some highlights here... I'm breaking it up by day to make it easier... so here we go...

Day 1
We all had colds so we got a late start and didn't get out to Wyoming until about 7 pm but we still got there early enough to see the animals, run around a bit and shoot off fireworks.

This is my favorite picture of Blake. He was just so excited to be out of the car and seeing all the animals.

Blake was obsessed with the animals from afar but would freak out if they got too close to him. He especially liked the goat from afar. Here is Daddy trying to show him the goat was actually nice. He didn't buy it and took off as soon as Paul let him go.

After seeing the animals we lit off fireworks. Its been a while but it was fun seeing how excited the girls got. Even Blake liked it, although his joy was short lived. He kept trying to touch the fire side.

Wyoming Vacation: Day 2

On Day two, we found out Blake had an ear infection. Because of his tubes in his ears, the infection just drained out the goo. It was gross so we put cotton balls in it to absorb the gunk and surprisingly he kept it in for the most part. Luckily the doctor phoned in a prescription so Blake was good to go the rest of the trip. It hardly even bothered him but it just looked so funny.

In the morning/afternoon, the kids all got to ride horses.

Auntie Carol got the girls Barbie fishing poles and Blake a sponge bob one. This is Lizzie and Linnie practicing fishing in the kitchen sink.

Once they had it down, we went down to the pond for some real fishing...

But first my sweet little girls playing with the gross worms. Ewww... I guess I should be glad they aren't too girly.

Then we rode in the row boat.

Wyoming Vacation: Day 3

Day Three was jam packed. First we went on the 4 Wheelers. We all rode together into the dry lands with Blake, Lizzie and Daddy on one 4 wheeler and Mommy, Jackie and Linnie on the other. It was a ton of fun. Here's a pic of the kids all together afterward. Dad really liked this activity.

Then us girls rode horses. Lizzie and Linnie even rode with their own reins. They didn't have to have the horses led by Jackie, Aunt Carol or myself which is pretty impressive (If I don't say so myself).

While the girls were riding, the boys (Blake, Paul and Uncle Doug) went hunting prairie dogs. Blake sat in front of Paul while he shot them. It was quite the experience for the both of them. They loved it. I think Paul's found a new hobby. Later that evening Paul and I went hunting (well I watched after I shot once and hit myself in the head... yeah not very good at it I suppose) and I got this picture. He kept telling me he was getting them but supposedly whenever you shoot one, they fall back into their holes so we never saw any proof but it did look like they got hit. Look at him, isn't he a natural?

Wyoming Vacation: Day 4

This was our last day, so we tried to fit as much as possible. First Lizzie and Linnie wanted to ride horses but before we could ride Lizzie and Linnie were put in charge of scaring the steers away with their whips (from the arena). Here they are right before with their whips... aren't they terrifying?

There's not too many four year olds who can say they've chased steer and they did a great job. The only side effect was they both stepped in the cow dung and were not pleased with that. It almost brought them to tears... poor little city girls.

Then girls went riding (Lizzie's favorite).

Blakeand Linnie, Blake would only get on the horse with one of his sisters. Apparently he thinks they can protect him from the scary horses. Silly boy.

Then fishing again (Linnie's favorite)... I didn't get any pictures of this but this is when they fell in. Whoops. Thank goodness for life jackets. Lizzie was trying to get something that fell in the water and accidentally fell feet first. Then Linnie tumbled in face first doing a little somersault. They were not as amused as the adults (I admit we all thought it was hilarious). They bawled and bawled very dramatically I might add.

Flashback Friday (a little late): SIsters

Last week I posted pictures of Lizzie and Linnie being troublemakers so this week I wanted to show how sweet twins really can be. They are each other's best friend and love each other to death. When they were little they loved running around holding hands. They are so sweet.

Flashback Friday... Lizzie and Linnie Experiment with makeup

Everyone always asks what its like to have twins... This picture sums it up. They are trouble makers but very cute ones.This is when Lizzie and Linnie were almost two and found my makeup. I was doing laundry upstairs and came down to find them putting on my make up. Such little stinkers. Once I got over that they ruined my makeup (they mixed it all together) I cracked up. I guess this is how they think makeup is supposed to look. They just kept saying "I pitty" (I'm pretty) . It was quite cute.

They've always been very mischievous, especially when they were 2 (I definitely believe in the terrible twos) from flooding our bathroom (yes that really happened and they almost were sold to the gypsies) to flipping their matresses over (two year olds have amazing strength when there's two of them) to breaking our kitchen table in half. Good thing they're so cute or Blake may never have existed.

Flashback Friday: Paul and Marcia Are Little

Busy Busy Busy

Things have been so crazy lately. I have been taking some teacher classes at the community college. You do 3 units in 6 days. I go from 8-4 everyday. Ughhh. And they give homework... who would have thought? :) Even though its a bit busy around here, I wanted to put up a super cute picture of the kids. Paul was taking pictures and they kept asking him to take some of them. They had just come in after spending about 3 hours in the backyard. They love being outside!

Hanging at the Neighbors

Last Sunday, we had our friends/neighbors over and Cindy got some great shots of the kids.

Kade and Aisly. Kade is a little less than a year younger than A but they are the same size. For some reason in the picture he looks a lot bigger than her. He LOVES playing with Aisly. If he sees her outside playing he will yell her name until we let him go see her. Its quite funny.
