Swine Flu... Seriously

This week has been a little awful. First, my family all left at once... that means no more help and I was on my own with the 4 kids for the first time. I really appreciate all the help they gave, especially my aunt Carol and my mom. Being on my own, I must have done something wrong because, the girls went to a friends house for a sleepover on Tuesday and I got a call to pick them up because they had  these awful fevers, coughs, etc. I joke because they were at a doctors house. On Thursday evening, we took their temperatures and they had risen to 103.8. I have never seen them so miserable. It was awful. After a call to Paul's mom, and our pediatrician, Paul was took them to insta-care. Our pediatrician told us to make sure they tested them for the type a influenza (yes swine flu) since we have a 3 week old baby at home. The insta-care doctor was sure it was just an upper respiratory infection and didn't want to test but after some insisting by my wonderful husband, they did it and told us they would call with the results.

We honestly did not think it could possibly be Swine Flu. Swine Flu is what you see on TV not in real life, unfortunately, not for us. We got a call Friday night that the girls tested positive. Apparently they had been contagious for 3 days before they ever even showed a symptom. They also let us know that Jaxon had probably already been exposed but if he got a fever of 100.4 or higher we were to take him directly to Primary Children's Hospital. Scary!

In those three days they were contagious with no symptoms, I don't know how many times they held Jaxon, or put his binkie in his mouth. They are really careful about washing their hands before they touch him so hopefully that is enough. Kade so far has not shown any symptoms but had a hard time keeping away from his favorite brother.  So for the weekend, to limit Jaxon's exposure, he and I stayed with Paul's brother and sister in law. Scott and Jenny have been awesome letting us stay with them considering we have been exposed. HOpefully Kade doesn't get it, and especially not Jaxon.

UPdate

I haven't updated in a while so I thought I'd catch up. Its been a crazy couple of weeks but lots of fun!

Pics

Big Preschool Graduates

Kylie and Bailey graduated from preschool on Thursday. They had a cute little ceremony where they sang a couple of their favorite songs in their little caps. I can't believe my little girls are going to Kindergarden. Its surreal. They're just growing up so fast! They are the sweetest girls, always helping me and just so fun to be around. We love them so much and are so proud of them!
Their class...
They have some great teachers! We're so glad they had them and are excited for Kade to go there next year!

Family

Whenever a new baby is born, my family always comes to visit and help me out a ton! My grandparents, mom, and aunt all came to visit. My cousin, Lindy, who lives in Salt Lake came over one night for dinner. We had a ton of fun!
All the cousins. Lindy's daughter Hollis, is the only cousin they have on my side as opposed to the twenty-something on Paul's side.  This picture made me so nervous. I was so afraid Ky was going to drop Jax on the hard floor. What we sacrifice for a picture...
Grandpa, Hollis and Auntie Beth/Nana.
My grandparents gave the kids the best gift. They bought them each their own flower box and flowers to plant. They get to take care of them and can pick the flowers when they want. They adored it and have been watering it every day. The girls have even been watering Kade's.

Brothers

Kade loves his new baby brother. He's been saying for months how Jax is his very best friend and he just loves him to death (probably too much sometimes). I hope its always like this.

Daddy's Birthday

Happy 32nd  Birthday!
For Paul's birthday, we went out to dinner to the Mayan. I've only ever been once before and the atmosphere was fun but the food was awful. I had heard an ad on the radio saying how great their food was so we thought we'd give it a try. The girls had a birthday party in Sandy so we dropped htem off and went to dinner with Great Grandma and grandpa, Aunt Carol, Nana, Kade, Jax, Paul and Marcia. The food was great! I recommend it for sure!
Mommy and Kade, he was giving me kisses. He can be the sweetest boy.
Kade was very afraif of being in the snakes mouth. He kept saying, it was going to hurt. It was quite amusing.
Kade and Auntie Carol.
Kade watching in amusement the divers during the show. He thought it was the coolest thing ever!

Swimming at the Great Grandparent's Hotel

Marcia's grandparents came down to meet the newest great grandchild. They are 80 and 84 and drove all the way from California and we were all so excited for them to come. They let the kids all come over and swim a couple of days and they loved it! Nana was a great sport and swam with them all and let the jump on her.

The pool area was awesome. No body was ever there. It was a tad hot but the kids had a blast!

Jaxon's first bath

Jaxon's first (sponge) bath at home. All the kids wanted to help out/watch. They are all such big helpers. At first, Jax was confused, then hated it until I put the towel on him. Doesn't he look cute!

Jaxon is a great baby! All he does now is sleep and eat. At first we had a little trouble at night, as in not letting me sleep hardly at all. But now as long as we keep him up a few hours he'll sleep 5 hours in a row! That may not seem like much but I was getting used to 2-3 hours at a time so 5 is heavenly.

Here's Jax at 1 day old...
2 days old
12 days old... after church (I love this outfit!)
2 weeks old after his two week appointment. He gained a pound (most babies just regain to their birth weight). He's 8 lbs. 11 oz and he grew 1/2 inch and is 21 inches. He's in the 80th % for weight and head size and 90th for height.

Jaxon (Jax)

Today we added a new addition to our family! Mom and baby are doing fine. Jaxon Paul was born at 2:28 am (it was a quick labor but at an exhausting time!) weighed 7 lbs, 12 oz, length 20.5".  He's such a good baby and we are so excited he's here! We'll add more info and pics on our blog later this week.

Going private!

Its too much of a pain trying to change names and whatnot. I'm taking this private. If you want to have access to my blog let me know your email address and I'll add you to the list.

Our Fantanstic Weekend

I don't know how much time I will have to post in the next few days so I thought I'd put this out before the baby comes. We've had a very eventful weekend, our very last one before the baby was born. Thursday, My mom got here. The kids were super excited to see their Nana. It even made it easier for Blake to give up Cheyenne (it was our babysitter's last day tending until the fall). Kade is super attached to Cheyenne and misses her like crazy. Friday was my last day of work (Yay!) I went to the doctor, I'm 60% and 1 CM nothing to brag about for sure. My doctor told me I was all set to be induced on Monday! Saturday, Paul took Blake to a Rugby game (Paul's sister's boys were playing in) while the girls and I went with my mom and Jenny (Paul's brother's wife) had a girls day out! It was so much fun spending time with girls. We went to lunch at Cafe Rio (my fav) and then went and got manicures. It was a lot of fun getting semi pampered. Luckily my mom thought to bring a camera.
Sunday, was spent getting ready for baby. I still hadn't packed or done laundry or anything. We spent most of the day just getting stuff together. That night I found out however that my doctor mistakenly forgot to schedule my induction. I called the hospital and found this wonderful news, called the on call doctor, she put me on the waiting list but I was told, my chances weren't good. To top it off, if I don't get in on Monday I have to wait until Wednesday. After I cried for a while (my hormones make me cry over everything lately) I decided to stop planning. My bag still isn't packed, the laundry still is not done and I figure just forget it all. The baby can stay in forever!

Its almost time...

I wanted to do a really quick post before the baby comes. I'm getting induced on Monday (hooray) and hopefully this little one will be born. I've been joking a lot lately how I may just have to smoke him out. He's pretty content where he is apparently since I've been dilated at a 1 for three weeks. I'm excited to meet the little guy and to be semi comfortable again.

I have been awful about taking pictures lately. All I have is some video Paul took (I don't know how to rotate it, sorry its sideways but you get the idea). Paul put up these rings in the playroom above the ball pit. He is like a big kid! The kids love it and swing right into the ball pit. I know one day one of them (Kade most likely) will slam into the wall! They have a blast and it is pretty cool. We love IKEA!''
