When a doctor tells a 6 year old to fast then show up at the lab to get a blood test at 8am, he should be sure the stupid lab really opens at 8. Now I'm stuck waiting half an hour with a grumpy, hungry 6 year old (ps I am however very thankful for DVD players in cars).
He survived, we were out of there about 10 minutes after they opened. They were really quick and it wouldn't have been bad except he wanted to eat and/or drink. His blood sugar tests came back on the high side of normal which was good.

Most pictures of Jaxon come in stages. These were taken trying to get one for his 7 peaks season pass.

Jaxon's Curls
Jaxon has the best hair. He gets compliments on it every day. I love his curls but some days we just try and control them with a hat especially on windy days.

Fun with the Barnes
We went to lunch today with one of my oldest friends and her kids. Allison and I have been friends since we were 3. Our oldest are only about 6 months apart and she just had a baby a couple months ago. We both have 4 kids: 2 boys and 2 girls and they all have so much fun together! I love that they'll get to grow up together.

Mom's helpers
I got an email from work asking us to unpack (or move) our boxes ASAP in our new classrooms. They needed to put in the desks so I enlisted the 4 best helpers ever! All it took was a promise of a tour of my class and a soda. After about 3 hours, we had most of it done.

Swim lessons
Kade and Jaxon NEED to learn to swim. We probably spend an average of 2-3 days a week at the pool/Seven Peaks. Now as a mom of 4 kids who usually goes alone, I really want to have them swim :) today began their first swim lessons and Kade is already really close. We can wait to see how it goes!

Kades first talk
Today, Kade gave a talk during sacrament (not primary) in front of our whole ward. They typically do not ask kids under twelve so we were surprised he was asked but he did awesome. I don't even think he was nervous; he just had the biggest smile on his face the whole time. His topic was "I Hope They Call Me on a Mission". We're so proud of you Kaden.
The talk
Today I'm going to talk about "I hope they call me on a mission." I was very nervous to talk to all of you. My dad said just to picture everyone was in their underwear so I wouldn't be nervous. But I think thats gross, so I guess l'll just be nervous. I want to serve a mission because I want to teach other people about jesus and the holy ghost. I know that my Heavenly Father wants me to. I can start doing things right now like reading my scriptures every day so i know them really good. Writing my testimony in book of Mormon and giving them to people, inviting my friends to church and do everything my parents tell me to learn to be obedient (I didn't write that part) I know that if I start doing that kind of stuff now that when its time for me to go on a mission that I will be ready.

Kades last soccer game
Today was Kade's last soccer game for the cheetahs. He has LOVED it and can't wait to come back in the fall with some of the same team. His kindergarten teacher Miss Yorke was the assistant coach and he thought it was awesome that he could (but never did to her face) call her by her first name. His friend from church, James was on the team and his mom coached. We were lucky to be on their team. It was a great season and Kade learned a ton! Go cheetahs!

Last day of school
Kylie and Bailey have been in mrs. Warr's class for the last two school years and they have loved it. They both have earned close to straight As and all 5s (out of 5) on citizenship.
This is the awards assembly. They received the Excellence of Citizenship and Excellence of Academics. We are so proud of them both.
With their class on the last day. They have all been together for two years, some of them 4. It's a great group.

Kindergarten Graduate
Kade finished kindergarten today and is now officially a first grader (according to him). This year he has learned so much. He can sound out words and read. He can count past a hundred. And count by 5s and 10s. He can add and subtract. He loves school and can't wait for next year!
Kade got an award for excellence in math. He's a little smartie pants.
Cousins
Our nieces, Bre and Haley (Paul's sister Becky's girls) flew into town for EFY and we got to keep them for the weekend before. It was so much fun and they were such good sports. They kept the kids entertained and my kids loved it! They are already asking when they will be back. On Sunday night, we took them over to Scott and Jenny's and had a BBQ and all the cousins played.

Jaxon's 1st Birthday Party
Jaxon went to his first bday party for his friend Rhett. He was a little unsure at first but had a blast.
Jaxon can literally sleep anywhere. He refuses to nap so we have tons of pictures like these. He went to his first friend birthday party and afterwards zonked out. I tried waking him up and he just fell asleep standing up haha. Silly boy!
