She had to sit around all day while the splint was on. We had to carry her around, to bed, etc. She was a trooper. If you know Bailey you know she cannot sit still. She's a mover so it was slight torture for her. I did her hair in the morning in two braids and this is how her hair looked at the end of the day from all her restlessness on the couch.
It looks better in the picture than it really did. I had to use some serious conditioner and a comb to get the "rats nest" out.
When the day finally came to get her cast, she was so excited. We took her to a specialist and since she still needed to be carried Paul took her. The best part was when he came to pick her up he had his own splint on. He had chipped a bone in his knuckle playing dodgeball! Yes dodgeball. He's playing for a league with some friends. It was quite the sight seeing him carrying around Bailey. She loves her new purple cast. She made sure every doctor, nurse, technician knew she wanted a purple one so she got it! She'll have this one on for two weeks then get her walking cast. She'll get the new cast almost a week before she goes back on track.
OH MY GOODNESS POOR BAILEY! .. and POOR YOU! That is not fun at all! Hope it heals well!
ReplyDeleteOh Marica, I just have to say, I am so sorry. I know how hard this is on everyone, YOU included. I do love the purple cast and the little crutches.
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone is doing well and please know I am here if you need anything. Good luck Bailey.
Poor Bailey girl! I hope she feels better soon!
